"Can. Ch. Merical's Good Boy Ben"
Owned and loved by Eva Barnard & the Late Jim Barnard

DOB  Dec. 2 1994
Ben is the sire of our first litter at Blackdiamond Boxers.
Ben finished his Canadian championship in only three weekend,
his first show was in Feb. 2001 where he picked up 4 points.
His next show was in May of 2001 where he picked up another 4
points (2 points winning winners male at the N.O.W.D.A. & 2 points
at the Lakehead Kennel Club ). He finished his championship in
July 2001 winning Best of Winners, not bad for an old timer.

Ben was the pride and joy of his late owner Mr. Jim Barnard, and
nothing made him more happy then to see his Ben do so well in the
show ring. Jim was never more proud of his Ben for what he did out there.

Jim passed away April 3, 2002
Ben made his way back to the show ring one more time in honor of Jim
in May of 2002, in the veteran class at the N.O.W.D.A. in Thunder Bay Ont.,
the N.O.W.D.A. put an article in their catalog about Jim and his dog Ben
and this is the article.

" Ch. Merical's Good Boy Ben"
(Am Ch Merical's Unexpected Bonus x Brittnet Tara Allen )

Ben is owned by Jim and Eva Barnard, he was given to Jim and Eva by Cal and Meredith Gruver
When he lost all interest in the show ring, after gaining 11 out of 15 points and receiving 92 first
Place ribbons in AKC shows. After taking two years off, Ben was ready for the ring again. He
Finished his Canadian championship in July 2001 at the age of six.

Jim Barnard became a boxer lover when he bought his first boxer in February 1979, since
Then he has owned four male boxers. Jim was very to have Ben achieve his championship
And enjoyed the shows. Jim could be seen around town ( Grand Marais MN ) with his
boxers, taking them with him on errands. Jim and Ben participated in three Annual
America Cancer Society Relay's for Life. Jim, who admired the courageous and loyal
Qualities of the Boxers, lavished love and attention of his Boxers.

Ben became a lifeline to Jim during his bout with cancer. Ben was always at Jim's side,
And kept him going when things got rough. Ben would be at Jim's side, with his head in
Jim's lap, when Jim was not feeling well. Ben was very loyal to Jim, and is now lost
Without his loyal master Jim.

Jim, 76 years old, lost his battle with cancer on April 3, 2002.
We know Jim would be most honored to have his beloved Ben, who helped him in his
Fight against cancer, hit the show ring again and participate in the
Northern Ontario Working Dog Association Specialty Show.
